Excellent Advice: Self-Publishing Contracts: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Mainly the Ugly.

I’ve discovered a blogger who is set on helping writers navigate the dangerous waters of self publishing.  I found this particular post most informative.  It was posted last summer but contains timeless information.

The blogger’s name is Clare Christian.  If you are considering self-publishing — check this  out!

Let me know if this is helpful to you.  Let Clare know as well.  In this family we all need to help one another.

    Hello Norma Jean,
That post was very useful. It’s cool that you’re a creative writing teacher. I am too.

    • Thanks for sharing, Yawatta! Sounds like we are of kindred spirits.
Who do you teach? Adults? Teens?
And where? School setting? University? Community? On your own?

I teach adults through the adult community education system. Right now, I’m a county over, but I think I’ll try to get into my own county’s (less of a drive). I teach them during the nights in a school building, which we meet up in the library. That’s a good thing because if there’s a parent/teacher conference our class won’t be canceled.

Each class is 10 weeks long (2 nights a week, 2 hours each). Each week I break down a different story element of fiction, so they can learn the basics.

How are your classes set up?

        Keep smiling,
        Yawatta
